“Schwitz for Kids”

“Schwitz Chaschte”, which actually means headlock, is an exercise programme in Ohmstal, a small village in the canton of Lucerne. People from the village and the surrounding area meet here to improve their strength, fitness and coordination together. In addition to the weekly exercise sessions, events are also organised on a regular basis, such as “Schwitz for Kids”.

The fundraising event on 25 May 2025 in favour of Childhood Cancer Switzerland took place for the second time. On this day, the participants gave their very best – worked up a sweat and busily collected donations for children with cancer.

For Andrea Bättig, who runs the exercise programme, the event is a matter dear to her heart. As a mother, she is very grateful that she is able to live and work in a lovely village with her healthy family. And she is absolutely certain: “Happiness is the only thing that doubles when you share it.”

At the end of the event, thanks to the participants, their families and friends, a total of 1,200 Swiss francs was raised. All the proceeds will go to Childhood Cancer Switzerland. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks!
