Offers –
for and with survivors
Many survivors are confronted with challenges that are not always understood by those around them. This makes it all the more important for them to exchange ideas and network with others who have shared similar experiences – in this way they do not feel so alone. Our offers provide the opportunity to get answers to important questions, to exchange ideas and to network. The Survivors’ Centre offers are aimed at survivors over the age of 18.

NEW: Application and career coaching
Cured does not automatically mean healthy. Even after successful treatment, survivors have many new challenges to face, for example in relation to their education or career. The free application and career coaching provided by Childhood Cancer Switzerland is designed to give those affected the best possible support when entering or re-entering the job market.

NEW: Write your own story!
This exciting project is aimed at survivors between the ages of 8 and 35 who enjoy writing and would like to express their creativity in storytelling. The format is up to you: a short story, a fairy tale, a thriller, a comic or perhaps something completely different – in the end, these written works will be compiled to create a book. The free service is available online and is supervised by an experienced biographer.

Survivors’ meetings
For many survivors, the topic of childhood cancer and possible late effects often has no place in their everyday lives. In cooperation with our member organisations, we offer regular meetings and online events. These provide survivors with a protected environment in which they can meet, exchange ideas and spend time together. The Survivors’ Centre provides information and advice on the latest topics in the field of follow-up care.

Free legal advice
Many survivors and their families are confronted with legal questions, for example when it comes to training, a professional situation or invalidity insurance (IV) benefits. Childhood Cancer Switzerland, in collaboration with the self-help organisation Procap, offers free legal consultations to ensure that those affected are given targeted and competent support. A lawyer with specialist knowledge in the field of survivorship advises those affected and makes an initial legal assessment.

WeCanDays
The WeCanDays are long weekends accompanied by professionals. During exciting workshops, excursions and sporting activities, the weekends give you the opportunity to try out new things, discover your own talents and share positive experiences with other survivors. Together with the Survivors’ Centre, specialists from the fields of medicine and psycho-oncology provide information and advice on the latest follow-up care topics.
